Granny Hose for all!

My friend Andy is laid up with an injury to his legs. He has to wear as he puts it "granny hose" so Jeff and I have joined him and if anyone else would like to I encourage you to send me your photos so we can support Andy in his recovery.

We love you Andy! Get better soon and get back up those mountains and onto your bike.
Also see below Andy at the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro shortly before his injury.

Knitting season...

My knitting frenzy is ebbing with the increase in temperature around here and unfortuntely with an ache in my right shoulder. I think that my desk at work is creating an injury in my arm. Even knitting causes a bit of pain. Boo Hoo! I have asked for an egronomic setup and will see what happens. I've also had my doctor write me a note to encourage faster movement in this department. We'll see what happens.

miss me?

Personally, I like Dana's hat... It reminds me of an old fashioned bathing cap... Why don't you let her decide? Certainly, don't frog it! Let me know...

I've completed a couple more squares for my unborn, unconceived child. Here they are haphazardly displayed on my kitchen table (which hasn't since a supper plate in about a month. Lately supper happens in the rocking chair and involves a lot of ketchup.)

I finally finished the rib & cable socks from IK before it got too hot to wear them... I managed to wear them twice (without the ends woven in) before spring was officially over. Please excuse the lousy photo... I haven't quite figured out the camera that I've had for four months now...

I promptly went back to my old stand-by socks as taught by you.. plain ribbed socks in a cherrytree hill colorway that I got 40% off in Charleston. So far, I really like this yarn-- it's superwash merino-- very soft with no synthetic, machine washable, and funky-colored... I won't be able to wear these anytime soon, unless we make a trip out to Humboldt this summer.... Not much progress has been made since I took this picture, but what's the rush? It's about 80 degrees outside and time to plant a garden.

the merle

we lost our little dachshund on sunday afternoon after a hard hit and a good fight. here are some pics i wanted to share to document our short but sweet love affair... and his love affair with yarn... he chewed on every one of my knitting projects over the past year and on many occasions i found yarn strewn about the house wrapped in figure-8s around every leg of every chair and table, tracing his frenzied path around the house in my absence. he will be sorely missed. the house is so quiet.
